But for the love of god use the blue stuff. Preferably the correct brand but I couldn't find any in my hick-ass town so I used Prestone and I haven't noticed any ill effects

Pros: no ill effects

I use Peak for Asian vehicles, green in color, for my Mazda's. Get it at most auto parts stores in 50/50 mix so you never worry about cold temps in winter.

Pros: good for cold temps
Vehicle: Mazda

After that, you can run generally whatever universal coolant you'd like. I do a universal Prestone and have no cooling problems. I live at the beach and drive my stage 2 Jetta 2.5L pretty hard.

Pros: no cooling problems

Do not use Prestone 50/50. It is technically compatible, but it is a different formulation. Using Prestone 50/50 will shorten your service intervals to 36,000 miles. Beyond 36,000 miles you will cause damage to occur to the seals.

Pros: technically compatible
Cons: shorten service intervals, cause damage
Mileage: 57936 km
