Air filter K&N or Fram

K&N Air filter

I purchased K&N drop-in engine & cabin air filters. They are ridiculously easy to access and change yourself- and you’ll never have to buy air filters for as long as you own it.

Pros: easy to access, never buy filters
Vehicle: Hyundai Santa Fe
Mileage: 105000 km

I just ordered the K&N air filter for my 24 Trax now that’s it’s time to replace the OEM.

They also make one for the cabin filter. Not only does it save you money it saves all the waste of throwing away all the used air filters. I’ve used them for years in all my vehicles.

Pros: saves money, reduces waste
Vehicle: Chevrolet

K&N Air filter

I had one of these, had the 1.6 Honda in it, revved to 9 grand lol. Fitted a K&N air filter and an exhaust on it. Targa roof was the best thing with it.

Pros: revved to 9 grand
Vehicle: Honda

K&N Air filter

They're good filters, very good, but they're not worth the trouble for most people. It's rare that anyone really keeps up with the instructions for those filters to a TEE, and not following those instructions can have repercussions. My dad used to use them, and would have me use them as well when I was younger, but they were not worth the trouble, and fouled up sensors because be didn't do X, Y, or Z properly. And when I read the directions myself, I realized he never did the maintenance properly (such as the oiling, drying). I threw mine out and his as well. If you're going to follow all directions to a perfect tee, they're really good. But that +2HP or whatever is not worth it for me.

Pros: good filters, potential for +2HP
Cons: not worth trouble, fouls sensors, complex maintenance

A K&N filter will significantly reduce engine life. It lets in more particles than the OEM filter.

Cons: reduces engine life, lets in particles

K&N Air filter

Swiss cheese air filters (MWR, K&N) will do a number on your valve seats. Ask me how I know If you buy it, swap back to OEM or get a Spint DNA filter. I have a whole superbike engine build and the hp trade off isn\u2019t worth it.

Cons: damage valve seats
Mileage: 3000 km
