I bought this KIT from SHOPDAP and it was a breeze to install. The price at SHOPDAP is great too.

New thermostat, 80°C so the water will circulate throw the radiator well before its over 92°C, that made the coolant temp much smoother, never goes over 92 now, and never lower than 87°C. Adding a new water pump also helped, just to be safe.

Graf with the metal impeller. No issues.

I've used Graf water pumps on two different E46s without any issues.

Continental makes a good kit for that car, that has all the pulleys and the water pump.

Hepu is OEM, never had any issues with one.

My 2012 Tiguan SE 4Motion, 18k miles so far 1. Water pump high pitch noise when engine warm up, it happened at around 700 miles (pretty new), dealer said it is a flaw of that particular water pump, they ordered the part and replaced it.

I just bought one of these Graf aluminum pumps for an engine that I am building, but before installing it I asked around with the VW tech friends I know what their impression of it is. The consensus was "not great". One shop had to warranty two of them because the seal to the block failed, tearing at a T where it connects the two passages.

I have seen early failure with the Gates water pump and wont use them.

water pump on an Astra. Should have come out easily but whoever put it in used a shitload of some adhesive or some shit, and it was rusted as hell. Ended up having to break the pump into fucken pieces to get it out.
