I ordered the kit from urotuning for my gfs 01 golf, been in for almost 2 years now no issues. They use a Graf water pump with a metal impeller.

Im on the original Honda W/P on my 03 SI w/ 185k mi.

Replace it when it looks worn. Water pump failing would normally just cause the car to over heat so no need to change it as a maintenance item. I’ve also owned the previous ea888.3 in my Gli and I had 100k with no issues what so ever.

I picked up a 3.6 brass impeller Graf waterpump for under $50 from www.autohausaz.com they also sell the oem thermostat.

In my case, the Webasto water pump was faulty. You can hear the pump when it's running.

Excellent time to learn to do it yourself and buy a $65 water pump and timing belt kit. Dirty cheap for the miata. Just find a kit with a GMB water pump and a name brand belt.

Mine died 2 months ago (2012 GTI). It leaked out the coolant over 2 days or so. Dealership replaced it free, then I got the recall notice.

155k miles - water pump leaking again, gaskets in inlet/outlet pipes need new gaskets, put on aftermarket aluminum water pump in hopes to prevent future leaks.

Don't use Gates water pumps.

But do NOT use gates water pumps, they are junk.
