It's been a while since I last posted, but I finally ended up getting the sensor (g38) and replced it...I replaced the g38 in my jetta and P0715 vanished and has not returned, I have driven over sixty (60) miles and have started and shut off my car many times. I am calling it a success.

Pros: P0715 vanished, success
Vehicle: Volkswagen Jetta
Mileage: 96 km

Since my last service and the speed sensor replaced, no problems to report and have put up 2500KM. The DSG trany seems to work good so far.

Pros: DSG trany works good
Cons: faulty sensor replaced
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 2500 km

same exact thing happened to me. the wiring that goes to the abs speed sensor on the front right wheel was entirely frayed apart. i cut the wire in half, removed some insulation from both sides, reconnected the green and black wires respectively using wire connectors and electrical tape, zip tied them secure to the strut, problem solved for the last 1500 miles now.

Pros: problem solved
Cons: wiring frayed
Mileage: 2414 km
