NGK Spark plug

Personally I’m running EQT’s stage 1+ tune and I just went with the recommended plugs (NGK 4905s) for peace of mind. I think it’s worth the extra couple bucks for my sanity

Pros: peace of mind
Part number: 4905S

Denso Spark plug

Bro ABSOLUTELY do the spark plugs yourself. I bought oem Denso spark plugs from Napa Auto for about $180. Then all you need is a spark plug socket w/ swivel head, 10mm socket, 12mm, a couple extensions, needle nose pliers, dielectric grease, and a pick to make life easier.

Pros: save money, easy job
Cons: time consuming for beginner

Autolite Spark plug

I've been running autolite in pretty much every domestic that comes through my shop for years since they’re usually the workhorse for Ford and GM tunes. Also, I haven’t seen any dip in the plug quality lately so that's a good sign. The iridiums are still pulling clean gaps right out of the box.

Pros: clean gaps, good quality
Vehicle: Ford

When that started I replaced the spark plugs and coil packs. This was done at 82k miles. There were very small amounts of oil in cylinders 1, 2, and 4. Problems still persisted after replacement of plugs and coils.

Cons: problems still persisted
Mileage: 131951 km

Pros: brakes spark plugs available
Cons: parts long obsolete

Autolite Spark plug

A quick search shows that autolite spark plugs don't seem to perform well in modern vehicles, you might have to go for a higher quality closer to OEM quality plugs.

Pros: higher quality, OEM quality
Cons: don't perform well

The only things it’s done to me is die (dead battery) and a misfire that cause it to go into limp mode at 118k miles (I went cheap on spark plugs instead of doing NGK’s)

Cons: caused misfire, limp mode
Mileage: 118000 km

OEM Toyota Spark plug

A regional tire store / repair center "recommend" spark plugs on my Sienna at 92K for $850 (intake manifold has to come off to get at 3 of the plugs). I asked them what benefit would there be in replacing spark plugs at 92K considering Toyota sets the spark plug replacement at 120K.

Cons: unnecessary work
Vehicle: Toyota Sienna
Mileage: 92000 km
