Husband and I both ride a BMW GS 1250 on as little tarmac as possible...We changed the shocks and steering stabilizer because we ride more aggressive off-road stuff and the stock stuff was incapable of handling it.

Pros: better off-road handling
Cons: stock incapable handling
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 44000 km

Put a set of 23 TRD OR take offs on my fathers 2011 prerunner and the best way to describe this set up is a mini budget level, the ride quality is way better than the worn oem pre runner shocks and the front end did gain close to an inch.

Pros: ride quality way better
Cons: mini budget level
Vehicle: Toyota

I put a set of those on my ‘09 in like 2018 or 2019...Didn’t really change the ride height but ride quality was noticeably better, but that’s probably mostly because of how sacked out my old shocks were.

Pros: ride quality noticeably better
Cons: didn't change ride height
Vehicle: Toyota

I have B8 Performance with Hotchkiss lowering springs. It rides great but it’s probably one step more than you need. B6 is likely the way to go.

Pros: rides great
Cons: one step more

Family member has a f30 with b8s and I've had countless cars on stiff coilovers. I ended up doing koni orange (str.t) and Hr springs. Feels like a click above fresh factory suspension. Tight and responsive but never jarring. Iirc koni yellows on a lower setting can achieve the same feeling.

Pros: tight and responsive
Cons: never jarring

I still had to replace bushing and shock absorbers at around 200K km. That’s normal for all makes, our roads a full of potholes and too much salt is spread in winter.

Cons: replace bushing, shock absorbers
Mileage: 200000 km
