I was looking around for a 2 inch lift for my gen 3 and eventually settled with KYB skorched 4's and King springs. My stock suspension was gone and sagging rear drivers side. The new spring/shock combo is a nice ride, comfy enough, and good for all types of terrain so far.
Owner reviews for shock absorbers
Previous owner put Bilstein HD's in my current 240D. Love 'em.
I put in Bilstein B4's. Not sure if that is equivalent to HD or comfort, but no complaints.
I’ve run both and they definitely exist for different reasons! My 280E was lowered with the HDs, and my 300D’s have all run comforts. It sounds like you want the comforts, and they are amazing for sure. Smooooooth ride, makes for lovely cruising.
Got me some Dobinsons twin tube shocks and heavy duty coil springs. Totalling to 3’ of lift ✅ money well spent
Ended up moving into a 2019 3500, and doing a Thuren 1.75 level with the Fox shocks and AEV 17" Saltas and 37" Falken AT4s.
It’s been about 23 days now with the bilsteins. And it is definitely a noticeable improvement. It definitely rides better
Everest Tremor gets uprated suspension which comprises a 26mm lift. Along with new springs, larger Bilstein shock absorbers – with position-sensitive damping and piggyback-style external reservoirs
I've been thru multiple sets of the Oranges and the current set have around 20k on the rear and 45k on the front. The rebound damping has always been sub par on these IMO.
They put on new oem Sachs shocks, which are too soft.
