I have a 23 Z71. Took it in for sweet smell (coolant) after driving. They did a leak test and replaced the upper rad hose. Said it was a common isssue.

The support clip comes already attached to the Mopar hose, just like the hose clamps, and definitely should not be breaking within a year.
GATES is just as good and 1/5th of the price.
Had my engine replaced in a 2012 optima with only 82600 miles when it died. I had to buy upper and lower radiator hoses, serpentine belt and a starter. Kia cost was $1057.00. O’Reillys cost was $363.00.
I never liked that weird mk2 upper radiator hose. So much I incorporated an A/C & PS delete (requires some cutting and fabricating of the alt bracket), and got a non-a/c radiator with a regular overflow outlet for the reservoir. I'm still not driving it (needs injectors) so I can't talk too much, but I did run it and it works.
I got the upper radiator hose from a vendor on ebay mkautohaus, I believe. Deals in older VW parts, that one was $110, called the dealership and they wanted $145. And the shop the car is in charged me another $110 for the lower one.
It's so fun to drive etc., but the issues with the make are ridiculous. It's had at least 4 recalls, including issues leading to a severed radiator hose twice, electrical issues like you wouldn't believe
I took mine to dealership twice both times...upper radiator hose leak. Was putting in coolant like no tomorrow. First time at like 10k miles and again around 20k.
They had my 23 in for a month while they found parts. They did the new upper hose, and a year later i smell antifreeze again. Worst design i have ever seen.
Waited 5 mos for head rests that work, $700 for brakes at 19k miles because Chevy dealer would not cover the issue and now the stupid radiator hose. In the shop now, they gave me a brand new equinox to drive (shocked). Traverse will be sold as soon as I get it back. Infiniti QX60 ordered. When my TrailBoss lease is up, that’s it for GM for me.
