But after watching this I really like the Morimoto headlights, and for half the price of the Alpharex.

Pros: like Morimoto headlights
Cons: half price of Alpharex

Guys, I have successfully retrofitted genuine SEL Premium LED headlights to the car. This was the most challenging retrofit I'd ever done, not because of the wiring, but because of the coding and troubleshooting.

Pros: successfully retrofitted
Cons: challenging retrofit

I bought two sets of aftermarket headlights to replace my halogen lights on my mk6 gti. 2nd pair were from “osram” and were much better than the spyders but still didn’t compare to stock as far as brightness goes. My advice, splurge on OEM replacement HID’s or keep them stock. If you are set on changing them I would highly recommend OSRAM. They are from Germany and made very well!

Pros: made very well
Cons: didn’t compare to stock

About two weeks ago I installed the Morimoto XB led headlights in my 2017 Pro4x. The Morimoto headlights have a smoked color to the assembly itself, which I'm ambivalent about. They're brighter than OEM but not as bright as I had hoped and not as bright as the Diode Dynamics. Am I happy with them? So far mostly. They're expensive, even with the sale price I got them at. Would I recommend them? Yeah I think but not for the MSRP of $1,100. There aren't a ton of options for improving the awful OEM headlights and Morimoto is known for high quality products.

Pros: high quality products
Cons: expensive, not very bright

TYC Headlights

Rating 1.0

it's been driving me nuts that I've been getting condensation only in my passenger side headlight. They're brand new TYC aftermarket headlights and I have another friend with the same exact issue. Same brand, same side.

It's not leaking or anything. Just your typical condensation that doesn't go away lol. I've checked the breather valve (valve for venting the heat) and while it looks identical to the driver side, the holes are pretty small. I'm guessing it's not enough for the hot air to vent out, hence the condensation.

Cons: condensation, small breather holes

Depo Headlights

I bought an 06 depo replacement headlight awhile back and I returned it immediately. The seals looked fine but I was intending on resealing them anyways since these depos tend to fog up quite a bit and rather quickly too. Every Z I’ve seen locally here with the blacked housing depos have always had moisture in their headlights and clearcoat fading. But anyways, the headlight i received had finger prints and smudges on all the chrome bits inside the housing and something was either broken or rattling every time I would pick it up. The bulb sockets for the turn signal and city light were stripped so the plugs couldn’t really lock into place. Just felt really cheap overall.

Cons: prone to fogging
