I have a walbro now.... and just got my new bosch 044 in saturday.... Replacing the walbro with the 044, due to its capability to flow more at higher fuel pressures(boost).

Pros: flow more at higher pressures

AIRTEX Fuel pump

I sold an Airtex fuel pump for a Mk2 GTI that had the factory part number filed off (like the part in the OP), and it had been painted, and you could see where Bosch was printed on it under the paint.

Vehicle: Volkswagen

Use a Fox fuel pump. It's the same - and foxes from Brazil run E85 99% of the time down there.

WALBRO Fuel pump

oh its some fun getting the screw cap back on the tank. the problem is a stock pump the line sits horizontal and with the walbro it sits vertical. it requires some force and patience to get it in.

Pros: vertical line sits
Cons: requires force, patience

Bosch Fuel pump

Learn from my mistakes. Although as shown on the link above that Bosch lists this pump as for the Mk4 R32... it is not correct. Some things you don't notice until you are halfway through the job.

Cons: incorrect part, wasted time
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Part number: 69740

I installed the Bosch pump and a new fuel filter. 50 miles later the Bosch pump died. I was not beating on the car. Just cruising down the street doing 30 or so and bam, no power. I was able to return it and get my money back.

Cons: died after 50 miles, no power
Vehicle: Audi
Mileage: 50 km
