LIQUI MOLY Fuel additives

Had my 2018 done around 75K when I had the water pump done at my local indy shop. They honeslty looked fine...picture below. I've run a can of Liquimoly DI Jectron through every oil change more or less since new. and I know this is helpful in this regard.

Pros: valves looked fine, helpful product
Vehicle: Volkswagen Golf
Mileage: 120701 km
Part number: DI JECTRON

STANADYNE Fuel additives
Zealousideal-Iron

Rating 4.0

I have the exact same type of truck I run stanadyne after every fill up during the winter for extra protection against gelling since it gets very cold where I live. And I run it every other fill up during the warm months for extra lubrication since diesel is not as good quality as it once was and lb7 injectors need as much lubrication as they can get

Pros: extra protection against gelling
Cons: diesel not as good quality

BG Fuel additives
JWadle
  • Hesitation:
Rating 4.0

BG 44K every three months. I've been using BG for 30 years on BMWs and VWs. Expensive, but it was originally recommended to me by a BMW mechanic friend who has seen the difference in the condition of injectors with and without this additive on many cars.

Pros: recommended by mechanic
Cons: expensive
Vehicle: BMW

Chevron Fuel additives

The consensus among them is that most fuels are of equal quality, with the main difference being the additives each brand puts in their's (Techron, V-Power, etc).

Pros: fuels are of equal quality

Ron Ananian, AKA 'The Car Doctor', highly recommends using Techron by Chevron in the gas tank every 3,000 miles to prevent 'caked on' build-up of carbon.

Pros: prevents carbon build-up

STP Fuel additives
gsprobe
  • Hesitation:
Rating 3.0

I have no idea why I do it, but I throw a $4 botle of STP in my gas 1 or 2 times a year in probably all my cars. I feel like it can't hurt. I hope that maybe, just maybe, it improves my fuel injectors somehow which keeps up the good fuel economy and good power.

Pros: may improve fuel injectors
Cons: no idea why
