OEM BMW Drive belt

BMW accessory drive belt is $40, usually it is recommended to also change the tensioner and Idler pulley as well. They charged you $100 for the belt.

Okay so I think I fixed it Update I bought a duralast belt from AutoZone a cheapy and no squeaks im thinking the Continental belt rubber was to stiff. I bought 2 different continental belts one was squealing I'm guessing because it was a super tight to put on. The 2nd one went on nice but it would squeak not squeal and go away after driving for like 4mins this duralast belt I've heard nothing this whole week.

Pros: no squeaks
Cons: Continental belt too stiff

I'm generally in the OE only camp, but for belts, it's really not that big a deal. Sounds like you got the wrong part, but anything from a major brand will last another 100k miles easily.

Pros: will last 100k miles
Vehicle: Acura TSX
Mileage: 160000 km

OEM Audi Drive belt

There is limited information to be found concerning replacing the drive belt for the Roadster's rear wind deflector, or wind stop. I've put together a DIY on the procedure as a service to this community. The process is really quite simple, using basic tools and armed with this DIY, you should have it done in 20 to 30 minutes.

Pros: simple process, basic tools

Gates Drive belt

I changed my drive belt tensioner and belt about 1 month ago... I went aftermarket and bought gates for both (for an Accord 2006 A/T). Today, almost an hour into a drive, the belt shredded and the shredded part hit everything and was making a lot of noise. When I looked into it, it seems that one of the strands from the belt has come off... Just strange this issue surfaced after 2000km or so since installing, but maybe it's because the belt has expanded over this time?

Cons: belt shredded, strands came off, noisy
Vehicle: Honda Accord
Mileage: 2000 km
