OEM Audi CVT transmission

Ten years ago I had a Audi A4 with diesel engine and e-CVT in Germany. Was pretty smooth, no mayor difference in fuel consumption to other equivalent cars. The CVT was a little hacksaw to the fluids. So they had to change three times in the three years I had the car.

Pros: pretty smooth, good fuel consumption
Cons: high fluid consumption
Vehicle: Audi A4

OEM FORD CVT transmission

I had a Fuckus with the DCT. That was innovation done on the cheap. IT was broken more than it was running mostly because Ford never had the parts in stock.

Cons: poor reliability, frequent breakdowns, parts unavailable
Vehicle: Ford Focus

Wife has a 2016 or 17 versa sv. Nearing 100k miles. We've changed the cvt fluid twice and it still functions. That being said I don't trust it. You can feel the transmission get hot in stop and go traffic. It starts to lurch and feels like drivetrain lash. I would bet money that the transmission doesn't make it to 200k even with 2-3 more expensive oem fluid changes.

Cons: gets hot, lurches, drivetrain lash, unreliable
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 160934 km
