I used: EBC Yellow Tuff Pads Stoptech Powerslot Rotors I painted the anti-squeal spring and caliper support bracket black, nothing too over the top.

Brembo Brake pads

Stock brakes are just ok. I'll be fixing the issue in the aftermarket world. Brembo package probably fixes this issue, but mine was used and didn't come with that option.

Pros: Brembo package fixes issue
Cons: stock brakes are ok

OEM BMW Brake pads

The OEM brake pads were painfully inadequate for anything more than street driving. Interestingly enough, the rest of the brake components were designed very good and they have a lot of capacity. A simple pad upgrade and brake fluid flush proved sufficient for more serious track days.

Pros: simple pad upgrade sufficient
Cons: pads painfully inadequate

I've just installed ebc redstuff pads (I received this and rear green for the Passat) these days I haven't many time to use the car, but first test I noticed aren't noisy and not too bad at cold.

Pros: not too bad at cold
Cons: aren't noisy

the steering lacks the consistent weighting and tactile communication that a Porsche offers. For a car this rapid, it's not as talkative as it should be. We've also got reservations about the brakes. Our test car was fitted with competition-grade brake pads to cope with track use, but they still faded badly after a handful of hard laps.

Cons: brakes faded badly
Vehicle: BMW
