OPTIMA Battery

I just bought my battery from Costco last week.....well kind of. I got PepBoys to match the price of the Optima Red Tops that they used to sell.

Pros: matched price, good deal

OPTIMA Battery

Fitment was perfect. Sat on my stock battery tray just fine and the bracket held it down no problem. I'm a happy camper so far.

Pros: perfect fitment

Bought a redtop Optima battery for my 97' GTI VR6 a little or a year ago. Fit great in the engine compartment and still putting out tons of juice like the first day I cranked it over.

Pros: tons of juice
Vehicle: Volkswagen

But the battery's been fine. I got a Redtop after the factory battery died, then that Redtop eventually did wear out. So I got an Interstate, and it didn't stay the whole winter before getting shuffled into the Cabby or something that was summer duty/easy to start. I got another Redtop for the bug then and it's been fine.

Pros: battery's been fine
Cons: Redtop did wear out

SAMSUNG Battery

Snapchat doesn't hurt my standby time very much, but when it is in use it absolutely annihilates my battery about 2%/minute. It's been like this on every phone I've used.

Pros: standby time ok
Cons: battery annihilates in use

OPTIMA Battery

Optima is the most overrated battery brand on the planet (I'm not saying the WORST, but they are way too well-known for being a slightly-below-average product). They used to suck when they were gel cell (gel cells all suck) and their more recent AGM (AGM itself is good) batteries aren't great. Made by Johnson Controls, a not-great company, in Mexico.

Cons: overrated, below-average product, not great, used to suck
