Zimmerman blank rotors are a good street replacement. No need to pay for drilled/slotted rotors. Personally I went with ceramic brake pads. They don’t bite quite as hard as metallic, but they still bite well, don’t make as much brake dust, and they don’t seize to my rotors after they get wet

Pros: good street replacement, less dust
Cons: less bite than metallic

Zimmermann Brake discs

I used both before Zimmerman is good and cheap. Akebento are good too but hard to find and more expense. I practically used all brake pads and rotors over the 13 years I own the RRS. I would recommend using cermpads.

Pros: good and cheap
Cons: hard to find, expensive

Zimmerman rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Rotors are not drilled or slotted. The car stops on a dime and just saved me on the highway yesterday. This was the first modification I did and I'm glad I did it.

Pros: car stops on a dime

Zimmermann Brake discs

I just recently did the back brakes at 37k and the fronts last weekend at 39k on my 2020 M340i. Dealer said rotors were at min thickness last June but I waited for the sensors to actually trip and even then I got 1k+ miles with a good bit of pad life left still. Went with Zimmerman rotors and OEM pads from FCP Euro and second that combo. I read too many hit or miss stories about non-OEM pads, I don’t track my car, and brake dust aside like OEM brake feel.

Pros: good pad life, OEM feel
Cons: brake dust
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 39000 km

I have the zimmermans, and I've heard numerous people tell me they've seen and heard of them cracking under heavy heated use. It kinda worries me a little, but they've been solid so far, and I've yet to really roast them... Honnestly if I were to do it again, I would probably go with the brembos even though they may be a little more expensive. whats more important to stopping, is pads. The difference between the stopping power and feel of different pads varries greatly. I've had some heavy carbon kevlar pads that took a long while to warm up but once they were warm grabbed really well, but they were kinda hard for regular street driving. I've used stock pads which pretty much suck but last forever, and I've used some softer sport street pads that wear and dust a little more, but stop far supperior to oters for regular street driving. I've yet to push them to the point of fade, but we'll see where that goes once I've got the suspension and bleeding sorted

Pros: solid so far, better pads important
Cons: heard they crack under heat, would go with Brembos

I switched to the supposedly equivalent Zimmerman blanks and textar pads and I didn’t like the performance so I switched back to the stock brakes.

Cons: poor performance
