While I like it, I\u2019m not 100% satisfied. The black part hanging down through the window is throwing me off. Why was it installed like this?

Cons: installation not seamless

Huge benefit to getting Yakima or Thule as you’re not limited to the mount points like you are with oem.

We have the evo aero kit from thule

Pros: not limited to mount points

I use very similar racks to this, although my car has rails and doesn't need the adapter to grab onto the gutters. Been using it for 8ish years, and I got a similar time from a similar setup on my previous car. Never had a problem.

Pros: no problems, similar setup

For me the extra wind noise and reduced mpg isn’t worth it so I drive around in my mom car as a a dude in his 30s and own it

Cons: extra wind noise, reduced MPG

I've got the OEM ones, made by Thule, and they whistle so loud that my buddy says he can hear them when he drives behind me.

Cons: whistle so loud

I use the Thule Evo Wing bars for my Mk8 and carry skis and kayaks. They are great. A little bit of a pain to get the other carriers on the bars them selves. But over all quiet and of good quality.

Pros: quiet, good quality
Cons: pain to get carriers

I have Thule Aeroblade Edge with the included rubber strips. Note that these bars do not stick laterally past the roof rails, which probably helps. With just the bars they make almost no noise that I can notice even at 80 MPH.

Pros: almost no noise

I had a Thule rack mounted for a year and had used the clear vinyl stickers that came with it. When I took off the rack and the stickers, there was a cloudy haze where the feet were. It seemed to slowly fade and disappeared entirely when I had my car detailed six months or so later.

Pros: easy to install
Cons: cloudy haze where feet were

With my Thule rack, included with the fit kit are pieces of rubber hose that were placed inside the outer door weather seal.
