Reviews of PIAA fog lights

Old school KC highlights and PIAA fog lights with halogen h3 bulbs. Plenty of heat to melt snow.

A while back I found some PIAA 1400 fog lights in the junkyard in seemingly great shape. Unfortunately the bulbs were dead and the PIAA 1400 uses a strange PIAA specific sealed beam bulb.

Upgrade to PIAA 2500k fog lights on my r55 MCS.

I was able to fit PIAA 530s in the lower center grill. It was not fun. I have added fog lists to Civics and JDM fog lights to Subaru Wrx where you have to cut ends of the bumper support, and this was by far one of the more difficult bumpers to remove. The lack of anything to bolt to was a pain. The lower support ends up being about 2\" below the fog light mount. I ended up using brackets that extend out from where fogs lights would be on a MKVII pre refresh. The honey comb of the grill is also not lined up vertically, so fitting 3.75\" fogs was tight. The smaller PIAA LP 270 would have worked better. It also has more mounting options. The wiring harness on the 270 is also better. The harness for the 530s looks cheap. No relay, cheesy fuse older, and small gauge wiring.

On my old car I swapped out the fog lights for some PIAA yellow ones and they definitely improved the visibility on poorly lit roads and in fog but the yellow took some getting used to.

I've been running PIAA plasma ion yellow fogs for nearly 3 years now and love them. While LEDs may be brighter, these are simple drop-in halogen replacements that work well in the fog/inclement weather mess and look great to me, especially paired with deauto HIDs.

I spent $90 on my PIAA yellow fogs and would do it again in a heartbeat FWIW I also just found out that they'll fit in my SVX projector low beams which is great.

PIAA and 1/2 hour install 15 min per side since you have to turn the wheel to access the trapezoidal shape door.

i had PIAA yellow fog lights mounted in the lower valance panel in my LeMans... they were pretty close to the ground. since they were not directed into the distant frontal area but more toward the ground they wouldn't create a nebulous cloud of haze in front like headlights are known to do in thick fog.
