bought a Nissens unit from FCP (Nissens according to FCP is the OE part) and side by side you could visually see a quality difference between the 2. The Nissens tank has been holding up beautifully.

My Nissens expansion tank seems to be holding up very well
I've recently replaced my original oem one with Nissens, no issues so far, works perfectly. it was a super easy install and no issues so far.
I got a Nissens radiator in mine after it had to be replaced last year, and it’s been serving me very very well
The Nissens are inexpensive and mine has been trouble free for ten years.
I put a Nissens in my 1992 325i cabrio and it fit perfectly. It’s been in there for seven years now and all is great. My car was an automatic when I bought the radiator. I later had the car swapped to manual and plugged off the transmission cooler ports on the radiator.
just replaced one and aside from slight issues with the drain plug alignment that needed some finessing, seemed fine and held pressure.
After polling the audience, seems like Nissens is a reputable brand to go with. I wanted to try something different than OE since the OE doesn't have a good track record to begin with.
I've fitted Nissens AC parts regularly at work without having the customers come back. The only time I had a problem with them was when I fitted a Nissens AC compressor to my beater rally BMW and then first absolutely beat the shit out of the car over small mountain passes for a couple days with hitting the redline all the time and then driving on into 110°F weather. It still cooled just fine but started to rattle like a tin can full of gravel within a week of installing it. It got replaced under warranty no questions asked so I can't really complain though.
Auto AC compressor with slow leak was replaced with a new Nissens unit. New drier installed, system properly evacuated and charged with factory 134a fill. System tested perfectly. Shortly thereafter, AC non-operable. Static pressure still tests fine, but compressor doesn’t kick on when called. Visual inspection reveals clutch cover missing along with one of six rubber inserts
