OEM Nissan Engine oil
socketz67
  • Engine noise:
Rating 5.0

I’ve been running it for years, no valve train noise. It’s a convention base, so you need to stick with a 3k mile OCI.

Pros: no valve train noise
Cons: 3k mile OCI
Vehicle: Nissan

OEM Nissan Tires

Nissan Leaf second generation, I think it's a 2019.

It rules so hard. No gas, no oil, I barely even use the brakes, man. (It's got a single pedal regen braking mode that I leave it in)

Only money I've spent on it was a new set of tires a year ago. Barley dentsl the electric bill.

Pros: no gas, no oil
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf

OEM Nissan Tires

My wife has some on her Nissan Rouge. We didn't know anything about Runflat tires until she came home one day with a bolt in the tire. When I took it to the Tire Shop, the salesman explained to me about Runflat tires and I am sold! Theyre a lot more pricey, however they are worth it!!

Pros: worth the price
Cons: more pricey

OEM Nissan Timing chain

I was stressed to have my 2006 S 2WD chain replaced after 120k miles, but never really found service requirements (vice dealership recommended service crap). Also - I procrastinate a lot. Then I ran across a Nissan engineering service document that stated the chain was rated “for the service life of the engine” - it was the plastic tensioners that would wear out.

Pros: chain rated for life
Cons: plastic tensioners wear out
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 200000 km

OEM Nissan CVT transmission
LooseInvestigator510
  • Smoothness:
  • Shudder:
Rating 1.5

Wife has a 2016 or 17 versa sv. Nearing 100k miles. We've changed the cvt fluid twice and it still functions. That being said I don't trust it. You can feel the transmission get hot in stop and go traffic. It starts to lurch and feels like drivetrain lash. I would bet money that the transmission doesn't make it to 200k even with 2-3 more expensive oem fluid changes.

Cons: gets hot, lurches, drivetrain lash, unreliable
Vehicle: Nissan
Mileage: 160934 km

OEM Nissan Fuel pump

The auto stop or the button that saves everything when at an idol stopped working after 6 months of owning and eventually wouldn’t start ..it ended up being the fuel pump and I’m here yet again at dealership with the fuel pump issue! 25k miles on it and fuel pump going out twice?! How is that to be? Something is causing this but they don’t tell you anything at dealership.

Cons: fuel pump failed twice, wouldn't start
Vehicle: Nissan Pathfinder
Mileage: 25000 km
