Not a Tiguan thing, but I switched from Castrol to Motul oil and stopped the oil consumption I was having.

Motul 8100 power 5w-40. Best oil in my opinion. Great if you run ethanol

Was running cheap ass liqui moly but now that I\u2019m not slow stock turbo anymore i run Motul 8100 Xclean (5w-40).

I recently switched to fully synthetic motul 7100 10w50 too, which did help a little, but didn't solve the issue.

Cons: didn't solve issue
I try and stick with Motul 10W60. But I don’t think the engines are particularly picky about brand
