5000 miles, full synthetic, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Do it myself to make sure it's done right. Use the Motorcraft OEM filter.
I just replaced mine with a motorcraft one from rock auto. Yeah it's pricier than reman or other brands but if it lasted 20 years and 190k, I figured that this would last just as long. Get what you pay for
I went through 3, iirc on my 2006 mustang. Wound up with a used motorcraft (OEM) that I bought off eBay.
I worked for Autozone in 2004. I had a 1993 Ranger come in with a slow crank and wanted the battery tested. It was the original motor craft battery. To this date it’s still the oldest working one I have ever seen.
I still recommend the OEM oil. I have a mechanic that let's me provide my own parts (if I wish) for a job at no cost. When he does my oil changes I provide the Motorcraft Oil and Oil Filter.
I buy multiple at a time on rockauto and it works out slightly cheaper then dealer mechanics pricing in the end.
Been there with a Motorcraft alt. 181K miles. She stopped charging. No batter light on the dash. I laid it to rest and paid my respects.
During Covid times, I ordered a Motorcraft pump off of Amazon. When it finally showed up after three weeks, it was in a plain unmarked box. I opened it up and it was a broken Delphi brand assembly. I returned and got a refund.
I bought a Motorcraft thermostat from the Ford dealer for my Crown Vic and it ran about 20 degrees cold.
