I swapped out the OEM pads for Hawk HPS' within the first thousand miles and the Hawks have a quarter of the dust, no noise, an equal level of bite and OEM stopping power. They are the best of both worlds in my opinion.

Pros: less dust, no noise
Vehicle: Audi
Mileage: 1609 km

i put HAWK ceramic on mine. I used the listing for the GTI and they work, but over time I had to extend the backing plate with weld to stop rattle. They are awesome pads with good street manners.

Pros: awesome pads, good manners
Cons: rattle, needed weld
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 62000 km

I have Hawk HPS currently all around. Rears have almost 25k miles on them and still a lot of pad left. That said I had about 7mm of pad on the stock rears when I took them off so it may just be my driving style.

Pros: long lasting, a lot of pad left
Mileage: 40233 km

Driving the Golf R made me not buy it. I have a 2009 MKV TSI base model 6mt with APR Stg 2 (intake, chip, downpipe) upgraded stock brakes (hawk HPS, ss lines, dot 4 fluid), KW V3 coilovers (both rebound and compression adjustable) and it was faster, handled better and braked similarly to the Golf R.

Pros: braked similarly
Cons: not a blast

i have hawk ceramic brake pads front and rear along with ss brake lines on my 2012 golf R. I got them from ecs tuning and they work great! nice improvement over stock.

Pros: nice improvement over stock
Cons: female connector instead of male

I am on Hawk HPS and I absolutely love them, great bite. Buddies in there STI's were shocked at how fast my car stopped and how hard the brakes bit. Very low dusting, takes about 5X as long to see dust as the stock pads.

Pros: great bite, very low dusting

Now i have Hawk HP+ pads, great stopping power, lots of dust, noisy in day to day use, loud when heated and when using mild braking force (bearable), predictable bite patter not to aggressive easy to modulate breaking Great on the track for a mildly tuned car on oem breaks set up, did not fade, after first heat cycle.

Pros: great stopping power, predictable bite
Cons: lots of dust, noisy
Vehicle: Volkswagen
