If you decide to go this route, Gabriel Ultra shocks and struts from Rockauto.com are good. Avoid Monroe and the cheaper brands. KYB are OEM, but the aftermarket ones are stiffer than the OEM, but are excellent quality.

Pros: Gabriel Ultra shocks good
Cons: Monroe, cheaper brands avoid

GABRIEL Shock absorbers

I used a set of Gabriel Shocks for the front and back of my 98 LX, they are spring assisted load shocks. Super cheap, but it's been 5 years and they are still going strong.

Pros: still going strong
Cons: super cheap

GABRIEL Strut assembly

I recently put some Gabriel quick struts on my 2008 minivan. Fitment was so good they didn’t change the alignment (I had a local shop check after the install). I’ve only driven on them for a month but the ride has been excellent so far.

Pros: excellent ride, good fitment

GABRIEL Strut assembly

I put Gabriel ready struts on. I like them. They are a more truck like ride. I tried some cheap RCS brand ones and I was literally bottoming in city streets with a lift kit lol. I would go Monroe if you want really smooth(never had them but that’s what I’ve heard), Gabriel a little more performance or if you tend to carry heavier stuff frequently.

Pros: truck like ride
Cons: bottoming in city streets

GABRIEL Shock absorbers

I used Gabriel's on front and KYB in the back. I also replaced the sway bar links. They were busted and rusted out/seized to strut.

Pros: replaced sway bar links
Cons: busted and rusted

No Monroe, never Monroe unless you need quick struts. KYB is okay but always stiffer than advertised imo. Gabriel is fine but I always aim for Bilstein or another respected aftermarket brand if I plan on keeping the car.

Pros: fine

You’d probably do the car a disservice by fitting some of the aftermarket struts that are out there like Monroe or Gabriel, I’d recommend sticking to Honda OEM or KYB.

Pros: sticking to Honda OEM
Cons: aftermarket struts disservice
Vehicle: Honda Fit

Gabriel/Quick Struts are junk. Rides like shit, noisy, every time. If you were putting them on an old clapped out civic or something I’d say go for it, but definitely not on your Lexus.

Cons: rides like shit, noisy
Vehicle: Lexus LS
