I took some of the Chemical Guys "tire kicker tire shine" , sprayed on the pad and put a coat on all 4 tires. I drove for another week. Few days ago I was cleaning the car, and noticed the black tire splash marks on the lower part of the bumper. I wiped it off and noticed yellow stains underneath. I tried cleaning it for 30 minutes with everything I had, soap, clay, rubbing compound, tar remover, etc. Nothing worked. I then ended up going to my last resort and sanded the clear coat of the spots with 1500 grit sand paper, followed up 2500 and 3000 grit. I used the rotary buffer to cut and buff and bring the shine back. I was able to get them out completely. After extensive research on this I found out few facts: -Do not use petroleum (oil) based tire shine at all on white cars, it will stain your paint at some point. Only use water based tire shine (its more matte) -It was the chemical reaction of tire anti mold agent and petroleum tire shine that caused the stains. -It comes off metal painted pieces, its only plastic painted pieces that get stained (bumpers)

Cons: stains paint, uneven drying
Vehicle: Volkswagen
