Took it to my trusted mechanic, and it was the water pump. These water pumps fail every 60,000 miles (or 100,000 km for your UOM). I got mine replaced at 35k miles first, and it failed at 94k, so it adds up.

My Audi Q7 has a perfect cutoff line right below everyone's eyes
I always buy OEM oil from dealer and then get it done at the shop or do it my self sometimes. Just prefer that way cuz I care way too much.

I'm at about 50k on a audi Q4 awd and outside of resetting the inspection light ever 10k miles, washer fluid monthly, and tires at 40k.
I remember on my S4 the water pump had a plastic impeller that was guaranteed to fail at some point. The aftermarket made one that was metal.
My Q5 with 75,000 miles on it developed a leak in the water pump area. Initially Audi denied there was a leak, so I took pictures and showed it to them. Then they diagnosed it with thermostat leak.
I got lucky and found out my VIN was part of the class action lawsuit for water pumps, got that replaced for free.
What I did not know is that the Audi timing chains are *designed* to stretch. Yes you read that right. They stretch. They use both metallic *and* interlocking plastic components and will slowly over time reach a point where your timing is subtly off (and the sensors "designed" to warn you of this do NOT warn you soon enough). This, combined with my wife largely driving it like a grandma, slowly and silently destroyed my catalytic converter required a massive overhaul of both the exhaust system and timing chain, pulleys, etc.
Just turned 51K miles and threw an engine light for the first time. Took it straight to the dealer, low boost fault code due to coolant migration from water pump failure. At 51K miles I’m out of warranty with a $7,500 repair bill.
