My '13 VR6 Sport w/navi and the 18" wheels (OEM Continentals, not Goodyears) has been great through its first 9K miles. The ride is fine, tires are quiet enough and seem to be wearing OK
Volkswagen Touareg parts reviews
Took the T-reg out on the country roads and I must say I love the feeling of the new Michelin tires, and of course how quiet they are.
Very early notice here but just got my VW back from the dealer. They put replacement LS2's on and road/force balanced. Test drove and had the steering wheel shake. Well, after reading it and finding the shakes still there with new LS2’s, they borrowed a set of Latitudes off another Touareg on site. No shakes.
Ditto on the Nokians from me as well. On my 2nd set after 50K miles and find my speed control chimes going off regularly now (set at 96 MPH) because the ride is just so smooth.
Ditto on the Nokians. On three Touaregs, I've had Dunlops, Pirellis, Falkens, Hankooks and am on my second set of Nokians. It's night and day.
As far as the Bridgestone tires, I have ran them for 2 years and they have been an excellent all season tire. They do everything well and easily beat the factory tires.
My original Pirelli's were loud after 10K miles. I couldn't wait to get rid of them. The Yoko's are very quiet with exceptional handling characteristics.
Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's have worked well for me. This is my 3rd set...1st on the Touareg. Had the Pirelli Scorpion's -- Was not very impressed with those.
Just installed the K & N filters. Whoever, designed the air filter housings is a complete and utter moron! It is inexcusable at how difficult it is too change out the passenger side filter. What were they thinking. I had to chop with a knife the existing filter (passenger side only) to get it out of the tiny gap that is available. The 'G' clips are not hinged to fold back, so they act as great hooks to snag the filters. Then had to vacuum out the housings to make sure I did not leave any debris before installing the K & N's. One of the main benefits of the K & N's is that they are slimmer that the OEM's and will therefore be easier to access for future maintenance as they will slip in and out of the housings easier. THe reason I bought them is I have had good experiences with them in the past, I live at 10,000 feet and any extra air my engines can get makes a big difference!
