I run Mobil 1 5w30 and still change it every 5k. I could probably bump it up to 7500 or 10k but don't because I do it myself, and it isn't a huge cost or inconvenience to do it early.

I've heard some awesome things about the continental extreme contact tire in snowy conditions.

Just used it on an 83 4runner I picked up through a tow-yard lien sale. There was a pretty loud lifter knock and now it's down to a slightly annoying whisper.

I've also got a bad water pump.
