Toyo Tires

I have Toyo AT3s open country on my 15’ Outback. They have been great so far (10k miles). They can be a little noisy but it’s worth it.

Pros: great tire
Cons: a little noisy
Mileage: 16093 km

YOKOHAMA Tires
Joestac
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 5.0

I've had the At3s on my '24 OBW for almost 6000 and they are great. Ride just like the stock Yokohama Geolander. Gas mileage didn't suffer, and they are great off road.

Pros: great off road, good ride
Mileage: 9656 km

BRIDGESTONE Tires

  • Grip:
  • Noise:
Rating 4.0

Bought Weatherpeaks instead of CC2 for our Crosstrek, no difference in MPG. They're quieter than the stock Falkens.

Snow traction isn't as good as dedicated winter tires but it's good enough for the winters around here.

Pros: quieter than stock
Cons: snow traction not great

Continental Tires

I had Continental DWS 06+ on my 2023 BRZ with a different wheelset and was extremely happy with them. I specifically tested them for grip in the wet and they were way better than the summer performance Michelin those cars come with as standard.

Pros: excellent wet grip, very happy

OPTIMA Battery

Ended up finding a red top in the back of the store at Advanced (34R with 800CCA). If you go with Optima know that it takes some modification with the wiring. I needed to remove a cable tie and relocate one of the positive leads. Outback started right up and is running great.

Pros: starts reliably, runs great
Cons: requires wiring modification

MotoRad Thermostat
theroguenapkin
  • Overheating:
Rating 3.0

I remembered the old thermostat looking like it did, so I waited a few hours to let the engine cool down then swapped the new thermostat for the old one, turned the engine on and no overheating. I've been driving the car as it is for a while now without any problems other than I can't drive long-distance without it running too hot (ex. I drove 4 hours a couple times a year traveling for college, and in the summer the car sometimes would overheat by the time I got to my destination).

Pros: prevents immediate overheating
Cons: overheats on long distances
Vehicle: Subaru Legacy

YOKOHAMA Tires

Yeah, the OEM Avid GT tires are pretty generic. I have them on my 21 Outback. They don't have a lot of tread life. I'm getting close to 36k mark and they are due for replacement.

Cons: generic, little tread life
Mileage: 57936 km

Falken Tires

I’m getting rid of my Falken Wildpeaks after 6,000 miles of misery. These tires will not balance and I’ve had rotational noise issues at highways speeds.

Cons: will not balance, rotational noise
Mileage: 9656 km
