OEM Porsche Windshield

The arguments I used were that the oem glass has a ‘P’ (for Porsche) logo above the glass company’s logo, and that buyers check for that. I also said that I had read that non-oem glass can void the rain sensor warranty.

Pros: Porsche logo, maintains warranty

OEM Porsche Starter motor

Rating 4.0

I agree with everyone saying starter. My 986 made this exact sound for a week or two before the starter completely died. Replaced starter and all was good.

Pros: all was good
Cons: starter completely died

OEM Porsche Starter solenoid
Batking28
  • Quick engagement:
  • No rapid clicking:
Rating 4.0

Sounds like the starter solenoid is slow to retract, happened on my 4S. Easy job to replace and Boxsters have the same starter so if you search on eBay you can get a second hand genuine one for around \u00a350.

Pros: easy job to replace
Cons: solenoid slow to retract
Vehicle: Porsche

AP RACING Brake fluid

In my 981S I use the AP R4 fluid with less intense Ferodo DS2500 pads for time trials (handful of Max attack laps before the tires fall off).

Pros: good for time trials

DUNLOP Tires

I love the Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2 on my GT4. Amazing tires. Never thought I’d like a tire more than the Michelin Cup2.

Pros: amazing tires

OEM Porsche CV joint

I helped a friend buy a certified 2018 (I think? Maybe 2017) Macan GTS. The good? It really is a fun little coupe, with the six cylinder versions it's quick enough and the handling is great.

Pros: fun, quick, great handling
Vehicle: Porsche

DUNLOP Tires

Having worked at a Porsche dealership I’ve seen Dunlops wear out ridiculously fast. I’d be looking at a comparable Michelin or Conti to replace it with.

Pros: comparable Michelin
Cons: wear out ridiculously fast
Vehicle: Porsche

Mobil Gear oil

Rating 2.0

I replaced the gear oil in my 99 6-speed w/LSD using Mobil Delvac 75w90 about 300 miles ago and it seems notchier than before, especially before it’s warmed up.

Cons: notchier than before
Vehicle: Porsche 911
Mileage: 300 km
