You pretty much have to have your heat and fan set to max on your windshield with your wipers going constantly. That’s how I managed to keep my wipers from freezing up in a winter storm. And this was with a Volkswagen Jetta.
I bought the oem BMW wipers from fcp euro it\u2019s lifetime warranty and never had issues with it
Second they said that she needed a new rear window wiper blade. The cost for this? $67 or so. I bought a new one at the local auto parts store for $10.85. A 13mm wrench and 10min later and that was on.
I spend the little extra money and get Genuine BMW ones from the dealership. They fit and last longer than aftermarket.
Went to BMW and $68 later I installed them in the parking lot in under 20 seconds total. It’s worth the money, and they’re some of the best blades I’ve used.
Apart from a few sets of tires, a new set of awkwardly large wiper blades each year and one 12V battery all it has needed was some very basic maintenance: change brake fluid (same as doing regular brakes - nothing special) and greasing the caliper slider pins. Still on the original pads and rotors.
living in fl, I've tried them all, oem VW blades from the parts dept are the best.
12,000 miles, 9 months on my 2023 ID.4. The factory wipers are definitely done. That's not awful, but definitely not great considering I live in Colorado and we had a pretty dry summer.
But Mercedes and volkswagen have a special place in hell for proprietary fucking wiper blades… i mean come on
Also replaced the wipers because the ones that come with the car suck.
