Windshield Pilkington or OEM Hyundai

Pilkington Windshield

They put in a Pilkington windshield and calibrated everything for about $700.00. Everything works as it should, the HUD is clear but seems to be a a very slight angle compared to the OEM glass.

Pros: clear HUD, everything works
Cons: slight angle compared OEM

I replaced the windshield in my 2022 for $350 all said and done. 3rd party installer outside of Atlanta used Pilkington glass and did not need to recalibrate the Eyesight system. I’ve been driving with the new glass for two months now and have had no issues.

Pros: no issues, no recalibration

We’re on our 4th windshield for a ‘22 OBW. The third window, about 6 weeks after that, we switched to Pilkington and that’s lasted about 70k miles - so far. It has a bunch of pings that we think would have done in an OEM.

Pros: lasted about 70k miles
Cons: OEM not durable
Mileage: 112654 km

The OEM Pilkington sticker and numbers all match exactly. Seems to be a good replacement - I can't see or hear anything wrong with it.

Pros: good replacement, no issues

I did new glass in my wife's new CR-V at 6 months old, and I did aftermarket Pilkington glass in my 2-year-old Pilot. No issues to report.

Pros: no issues to report

Aftermarket glass is much more robust. My family is on our 8th Subaru and we've never replaced a Pilkington aftermarket windshield.

Pros: much more robust, never replaced

if you have the model that projects information on the windshield like the speed, etc you must get the OEM replacement. Only an OEM windshield works with it because of the glass type. Also I have a new chip on the current one that has been replaced. So ya I think these chip easy and it may be due to the special glass used, I'm not sure.

Pros: works with HUD
Cons: chips easily
Vehicle: Hyundai

This is my second one in 4 months. I'm in Arizona, so lots of rocks and pebbles on the roads. The only other vehicle I had this many issues with was my Jeep Wrangler, that was a rock magnet, three windshields in three years.

Cons: frequent damage, rock magnet
Vehicle: Hyundai

These windshields are shit. I didn’t even get 500 miles before mine cracked by an object so small I didn’t even notice it until the following day.

Cons: poor quality, cracked easily
Vehicle: Hyundai
Mileage: 805 km
