OEM Subaru parts are cheap as hell compared.
14K miles here, road-tripped across US once and commute 5 days a week about 40 minutes. No cracks or chips yet since 2023.
I purchased my 2023 in October of 2022; I have two small chips in my windshield, both occurred within 3 months of ownership. First one was after a month going up a hill into a rocky mountain with very high winds at the time. Second time was maybe 3 months into ownership and it was from on of those large semi trucks carrying gravel lol I’ve been a lot more cautious since but I’ve put off replacing the whole windshield for 2 years.. chips have not gotten any larger but I’m currently in Southern California where the temperature doesn’t fluctuate too drastically so hopefully I can put off a little longer
Subaru glass is fragile.
Our 2020 Outback just got a crack in the windshield.
I bought a '24 CT in December. Already has 2 cracks/chips. Never had an issue with chips like this with my Honda.
If you live in an area with rocks sprayed for traction at winter, dont bother (unless the crack impairs our vision). Subaru glass blows.
Toyota OEM glass sucks - I had a 4Runner whose windshield would crack if you looked at it wrong, and my Tacoma didn't even make it 6 months before the windshield cracked. Dad's Highlander cracked within 6 months as well.
My 2025 forester windshield got cracked already with only 3000 miles on it.
I already have a crack in my windshield. Local Safelite quoted me $1200 (500 replace glass + 700 recalibration).
