If you have the rain-sensing wipers, you will need OEM toyota glass because the rain sensor depends on the optical characteristics of the windscreen. My local Safelite assured me their glass would work, but it didn't (the wipers would run on random but frequent intervals), so they put in a second third-party windscreen, and it didn't work either. So I had them put in a third windscreen (they went with OEM), and everything was fine after that. OEM is an extra-cost option on the first install but it costs 40% more.

Pros: rain sensor works, correct optical characteristics
Cons: extra cost, 40% more expensive
Vehicle: Toyota

We went on a trip in the new car and everyone felt that the heat rejection from the windshield isn't impressive or nearly as good as the Baleno. The Baleno, in my experience, cuts out 90%+ of the heat from direct sunlight falling on your body and the Seltos is at maybe 30%.

Pros: Baleno cuts out heat
Cons: Seltos heat rejection poor
Vehicle: Kia

I had a Sportage 2023 and kia for the first time and had to replace windshield twice in the one year I Had the car. I drive benz and I get rocks and hit on the glass and never had I ever replaced a windshield on them. I agree these kia windshields are weaker

Cons: replaced twice in year, weaker glass
Vehicle: Kia Sportage

I have a 2023 Sportage SX and got a rock chip within the first month of owning it. Just got another one last month. Both while driving on the interstate. My husband was driving for the second one and didn't even know a rock had hit it, that's how small the rock had to have been. I had 3 Mazda 3's before this and never had any rock chips during those 7 years driving the same roads. I definitely think its the windshield.

Cons: rock chip within month, chips from small rocks
Vehicle: Kia Sportage

I purchased a certified pre-owned 18 Optima in 2020, and maybe months later, a little crack started out of nowhere right at the start of the top of the windshield. Over time, it spread all the way to the bottom in two different directions.

Cons: crack started out of nowhere, crack spread
Vehicle: Kia Optima

My 23 Sportage windshield cracked from the tiniest pebble hitting it. The pebble sound was barely audible. Meanwhile boulders have rained on my 2016 Flex and it’s never left a mark, let alone a crack. The windshield quality on Kia’s are crap.

Cons: cracked from tiny pebble, poor quality
Vehicle: Kia Sportage
