You may not actually need the recalibration… if you have a heads up display, that’s probably different but otherwise it may not be necessary at all. Went through this with my 21 RAV, lots of places tell me, I would need to take it to the dealer for calibration after the new glass. The place I went to said to try it out first and then decide if you need it because a lot of times through replacement does not affect anything. so I got the new glass and drove off, no issues no need for recalibration. The windshield cracked and a construction zone about six months after I got the car. It’s been a couple years and about 80,000 miles since then. No complaints or problems with any of the sensing pack, works like the day I brought it home

Pros: no issues, works perfectly
Cons: recalibration may be unnecessary
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 128747 km

Had the windshield of my 24 replaced because of a crack, they calibrated it and then had to come out and recalibrate it because it wouldn\u2019t;t registered on the left until I was well in to the oncoming lane. It may self calibrate, but probably poorly.

Cons: poor self calibration

We had an issue like this with our 2020 Kia Telluride, where you could tell how cheap and thin the new Windshield was. One little chip and it was already running through out the whole Windshield; it was a really soft hit too.

Cons: cheap, thin, easily cracked
Vehicle: Kia

I've noticed on my 2024 Rav4 that the windshield is more prone to stone chips. This is my 4th Toyota and already in the span of a year I have two stone chips that on my other Toyota's would not have chipped.

Cons: prone to stone chips, weak glass

My ‘23 Camry with 12k miles has several pits and cracks. Seems like the windshield is a magnet for road debris.

Cons: several pits, cracks, attracts debris
Vehicle: Toyota Camry
Mileage: 19312 km

According to the shop that fixed my windshield, the Toyota windshields are easily broken. I was the 3rd RAV4 that day

Cons: easily broken, frequent replacements

My 2019 rav4 is on its 4th windshield (3 replacements). It is the only vehicle I've owned in my 24 years of driving that I've had to replace a windshield on.

Cons: poor durability, multiple replacements
Vehicle: Toyota
