Concerns are kind of valid but in my case, I have 60k km on my 2021 Outback and have not even a nick and my other two Subarus had busted windshields within the first year. The touchscreen might not be the fastest in the industry but it's not horrible day to day and I use it a ton with Android Auto.
I ended up going through a local glass company, and they sourced OEM glass from BMW. The replacement went perfectly.
Yes. The glass is weak - our last forester was a disaster until it finally cracked but I swear we would get chips driving down the road constantly
I’ve had my 2015 for just under a year and I’ve had a chip filled and then the whole windshield replaced due to another unrelated crack I got driving on a freeway on ramp
Got four chips in the first two weeks of owning it. Thankfully insurance covers it, but it blows my mind that it happened so easily. I keep a good distance from cars ahead of me, especially since I live in Nashville.
After replacing my windshield twice within 5 years, I tends to believe the angle of 2019 Forester windshield makes it prone to chipping, following or not following the vehicles in the front.
Yeah Subaru windshields are crap.
We get new windshields every year here in northern BC.
Mine barely lasts a few months before a new crack appears.
I had one of those 3 months after I bought my Forester. I tend to believe there's something going on that makes them more prone to it.
