We have had 2 OEM windshields replaced by Safelite on our 2021 Audi SQ7 in the past year with recalibrations done. No issues either time.

Pros: no issues, good recalibration

I ended up going through a reputable local glass shop near me who was able to order the OEM glass from Hyundai (took several weeks) and cost about ~$1,600. They didn’t need to do any camera calibration since they didn’t have to move any camera modules. I haven’t had any problems since then. As for whether to get OEE vs OEM? Really up to you but I really preferred to have the OEM just for peace of mind, especially with a HUD and all.

Pros: peace of mind, no problems

The glass is the OEM part, not a third-party product. They did the job when it was scheduled, and the calibration seems to be correct.

Pros: OEM part, correct calibration

My dad has a 2021 SQ5, and after an aftermarket windshield caused random issues with advanced safety features like ACC or Audi Pre-sense, we got an OEM Audi windshield and no more issues.

Pros: resolved issues, systems work
Vehicle: Audi SQ5

I used safelite for my Hyundai Palisade, had to get approval from Progressive for OEM. They approved, took vehicle to Safelite a week later and they replaced the windshield and calibrated in 3hrs.

Pros: quick windshield replacement
Cons: needed insurance approval

I got a crack in my windshield on my ‘19 Tucson. Took it to safelite (specialty shop that only does glass repairs) and was charged $700 for the windshield and calibration.

Pros: lifetime warranty
Cons: lack of OEM
Vehicle: Hyundai Tucson

I bought my venue last Saturday, a week later a tiny pebble hit it on the highway and later noticed a crack. After not too long and it being parked, the crack got noticably longer. I have never in my life had a windshield break like that, ever, let alone for it to just grow.

Cons: cracks easily, cracks spread quickly
Vehicle: Hyundai

I had to replace my windshield twice within 6 months of purchasing my Q5. The 2nd cracks were caused by my husband flicking a mosquito inside the car with his fingers.

Cons: poor durability, cracks easily
Vehicle: Audi Q5

I noticed this summer when I go over bumps, the windshield makes a creaking noise. It's been getting worse and worse. A technician found that basically the bottom 2/3rds of the windshield isn't actually adhered down to the car anymore. It's being held down by the top 1/3 of adhesive and the molding. This is clearly a manufacturing defect since it's the OEM windshield with no cracks or chips.

Cons: creaking noise, not adhered, manufacturing defect
