Water pump GRAF or GMB

Graf with the metal impeller. No issues.

I've used Graf water pumps on two different E46s without any issues.

I ordered the kit from urotuning for my gfs 01 golf, been in for almost 2 years now no issues. They use a Graf water pump with a metal impeller.

I picked up a 3.6 brass impeller Graf waterpump for under $50 from www.autohausaz.com they also sell the oem thermostat.

Excellent time to learn to do it yourself and buy a $65 water pump and timing belt kit. Dirty cheap for the miata. Just find a kit with a GMB water pump and a name brand belt.

As far as a water pump, the $24 Graf is your best choice. If you need the entire pump....that will cost more. I have also gotten very good water pumps from O'Reilley auto as well.....believe it or not. You probably should shy away from the plastic impellars.

I'd recommend getting a kit like this (...) from idp because it has a Graf pump, which has a brass impeller - some kits use plastic.

Geba, Hepu or Graf are all good quality and should all have metal impellers. I have been told that Graf is a little better quality, but I don't know.

I had a graff metal impeller waterpump start leaking from the weep hole about 2 months after replacement.

I had a problem with a metal impeller water pump: I did a tbelt change about 10K miles ago. Used a GRAF water pump with a metal impeller(I think it is most common with the aftermarket tbelt kits). The bearing seal started leaking coolant 8k miles later.
