Turbocharger Garrett or APR

APR Turbocharger

I don't have the valve lift K04 but my APR K04 works great. Power and reliablility. I have it on my base 2010 TT Quattro and it is so much more fun now.

Pros: Power and reliablility
Vehicle: Audi TT

Over the past few years, I was happy with my APR stage 3 + (GT 2871 for TT225) but finally I decided it was time for a change and more power.

Pros: more power, happy previously
Vehicle: Audi TT

I had this for 5000 miles and I'm ready to upgrade to a GT3071R...I was able to get 317 hp and 338 lb-ft of torque with the GT28RS...the GT28RS was very fun, good power and quick spooling, but it lacks power up top, like in highway driving or long straights.

Pros: good power, quick spooling
Cons: lacks power up top
Mileage: 5000 km

I know all 3 of those are good at 2 bar to 7100 rpm's. I am not sure if you can get by with the 3071 without it tapering down by 8k to 24-26'ish psi. I would bet the other 2 can handle that without a problem. I know the 3076 can make 40 psi to 7100.

Pros: good at 2 bar
Cons: tapering down by 8k

I have a 2871R and love it, spool time is great and does pull hard all the way up to 7500. Mine is daily driven at 18-19psi I hit that everyday, i don't know the numbers on that but it feels good.

Pros: spool time is great, pulls hard

I have a T3 on a 1.9TD and it does seem to pull nice.....but there is lag to it...I have to wait till about 2200rpm until i get some spool. The T3 gives a nice pull after about 2.5k rpm. overall I am happy with the T3 turbo.....I havent started turning up the boost yet.....but its a lot more "alive" with the bigger turbo.

Pros: pulls nice, more alive
Cons: has lag
Vehicle: Volkswagen Corrado
Part number: T3

I am running a TO4E on a 2966cc bottom end and the spool up time is good, you don't really feel any lag what so ever... If you look at the bhp curve there is a little dip at 2800 rpm but thats down to the mapping.

Pros: good spool up time, no lag
Cons: dip at 2800 rpm

I have had both on my jetta. IMO the 60-1 is not nearly as good of a daily driver as the t3/t4e. The 60-1 took longer to spool but when it hit, it reallly hit. the t3/t4e had a more smooth power band but still had a strong "hit" once fully spooled. You will get more power on the dyno sheet with the 60-1 but you will see more power that you can use on the 60 trim.

Pros: smooth power band
Cons: longer to spool
