Tires YOKOHAMA or DUNLOP

YOKOHAMA Tires

I've had 512s, 912s, and currently S. Drives. I couldn't tell you which ones stretch better but performance wise, the Falkens don't come close to the Yoks. My car is a summer daily and the S. Drives are great in dry and wet conditions. Good luck.

Pros: great in dry and wet
Cons: Falkens don't come close

YOKOHAMA Tires

S-Drives are by far the stickier tire. Much much stickier than the bull**** Falken. I still would not have a problem running a Falken for the pure look of it. Never would I get it for any performance oriented reason.

Pros: stickier tire
Cons: Falken not performance oriented
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I can't speak for the stretch as I have them on my stock bugatti's but the S.Drives are an extremely nice tire (at least for regular street driving). Got them on a couple months ago and love them. Wet and dry performance has been outstanding.

Pros: Wet and dry performance outstanding

YOKOHAMA Tires

S.Drives NO QUESTION!!! I have had both. . . I will NEVER run those garbage falkens again. im running 195/40 16's on my 9's as we speak and they are 100% exactly what I have been looking for in a tire. the falkens were 100% opposite.

Pros: exactly what I have been looking for
Cons: falkens suck in EVERY way

From personal expierence, the s.drives are a better tire, stretch slightly less but are a far better tire. the 512s are just good for stretching and thats about it.

Pros: better tire
Cons: stretch slightly less

I've been running Dunlop Direzza Z-1 StarSpecs on the track and on the street with no issues, still on OEM 18" wheels. NYC potholes have not been kind to me either, but no bubbles.

Pros: no issues, no bubbles

DUNLOP Tires

The original Dunlops (can't remember exact tire now) on the RX8 were useless below 35 degrees. I couldn't even take off gingerly without the traction control and ESC lights going crazy. But in the warm they were quite good.

Pros: quite good in warm
Cons: useless below 35 degrees
Vehicle: Mazda

DUNLOP Tires

you probably had the same OEM dunlops that i had. those things were absolute garbage. i drove for a year in fear of driving over windy bridges with those things. after i changed tires, it was a whole new car.

Pros: new tires, whole new car
Cons: OEM dunlops, absolute garbage
Vehicle: Honda Fit

I ran them on my R32, lasted about 20k miles. I was not impressed with them. Not sticky enough of a tire to have so short a tread life, not cheap enough either. I expected a hard tire that would last me awhile, and I got a hard tire that wore out at the same rate as a Toyo R-compound tire. Will not be buying Direzzas again. For the same price range I'd stick with Kuhmo's or Falken Ziex.

Cons: short tread life, not sticky
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 32186 km
