Tires YOKOHAMA or Continental

Continental Tires

I’ve had them for about 35k miles and still have significant tread left. Very happy with these tires so far and will probably continue using them when I need new tires.

Pros: significant tread life, very happy
Mileage: 56327 km

I run DWS06 Plus on my M3P, have gone through 2 sets. Loved them on my Audis, love them on my Tesla. They're quiet and smooth like summers but with weather performance and treadwear of all-seasons.

Pros: quiet, smooth, good weather performance, good treadwear

Continental Tires

The Conti's well wear faster. The compound is a summer tire: soft, grippy. You'll get 25-30k miles max out of them. If you race your car, or go hard on it all the time, you'll love them.

Pros: soft, grippy
Cons: wears faster

I definitely noticed a smoother ride so far and I would argue a bit more traction. I’ve only had them on for a day so I’ll have to see how much range loss I’ll experience and if they perform better or worse when pushed. Plus I believe I have a quality replacement from the OEM that my MYP came with.

Pros: smoother ride, more traction, quality replacement
Cons: potential range loss, unknown long-term wear

I bought a set of Continental Viking Contact 7s and had them mounted on a cheap set of rims from Tire Rack. Samaritan Tire swaps them for me each spring and fall and stores them for me in the off season. It's really easy and it's worth it for my own peace of mind.

Pros: worth it, peace of mind

YOKOHAMA Tires

I had 3 sets of Yoks in the past. I get about 160 runs out of them. Courses are 30-40 seconds, usually asphalt. They were at the wear bars in one season (the 160 runs) and actually corded on the insides first from the camber I run. One of the sets in my garage is completely slick with almost no visible tread left. I prefer tires that wear so you feel like you're using the entire tire. I want them to look like yours in 160 runs or about 25 events so I can get fresh ones in the spring and not have to store them.

Pros: consistent wear, full utilization
Cons: corded on insides

I have a similar experience. Was using apollo for my i20 changed to Conti, the sound is definitely less and smooth too. Have an issue with one of the tyre. It got a really small bulge i between the threads. I couldn’t claim the warranty since my dealer fkd up the warranty registration. Other than the negligible bump, the tyre is working fine and smooth

Pros: sound is definitely less
Cons: small bulge
Vehicle: Hyundai i20

Race kings were more durable but they sucked on cornering on switch back tarmacs. You couldn’t push them at all thru corners on pavement. I just found myself avoiding tarmac entirely with race kings.

Pros: more durable
Cons: sucked on cornering
