YOKOHAMA Tires

I gave up on 512's, they stretched awesome but i found that s drives stretch almost as good and they come in 195/45/17. Plus they are a nice v tread and not an all season tire. Grip great compared to 512's.

Pros: Grip great, nice v tread
Cons: stretch almost as good

YOKOHAMA Tires

The car handles exceptionally well with them. The West Virginia turn pike is easily handled at 95mph. Downfall- tires need to be rotated sooner then normal and they always run thin way before their due date.

Pros: exceptional handling
Cons: thin, rotate sooner
Vehicle: Honda Civic

Toyo Tires

Tires - I almost forgot! The Toyo tires were fine. Like any street tire, they got a bit greasy near the end of a 20 minute track session. Otherwise, no issues.

Pros: fine, no issues
Cons: bit greasy
Vehicle: Audi

Toyo Tires

If you want the best of both worlds, get Toyo T1R's. They are an all around amazing tire. They stretch great and perform well in wet and dry conditions. My car has never felt more \"sure footed\" than when i had 195-45 T1R's on my 15x8's.

Pros: amazing tire, stretch great
Cons: VERY expensive
Vehicle: BMW

YOKOHAMA Tires

I've had 512s, 912s, and currently S. Drives. I couldn't tell you which ones stretch better but performance wise, the Falkens don't come close to the Yoks. My car is a summer daily and the S. Drives are great in dry and wet conditions. Good luck.

Pros: great in dry and wet
Cons: Falkens don't come close

Sorry if my comments offended you. With the Toyo T1-S, I've run 195/55R14's on both a Miata and a Rabbit GTI. I've used 3 different wheel sizes with those tires (and I've had two sets over the years). On 5.5" wheels (stock Miata wheels), they are a little too vague on turn in for my taste. But they have gobs of grip once you get it turned in. On 6" wheels, they are a bit sharper, and the grip is about the same as on the 5.5" wheels. On 7" wheels, they get even sharper, but seem a little harsh, and they have noticeably less grip for cornering and for braking. And when they get to the limit on that wheel, they tend to let go a little abruptly. I've also seen some lap time test results for other sizes of the T1-S (Speed Touring and GT cars ran those tires a few years ago), and it was pretty consistent. At the widest end of the recommended wheel widths, they were already losing a significant amount of grip and were very unforgiving. They seemed to perform best toward the middle of the specified range of rim widths.

Pros: gobs of grip, sharper
Cons: vague on turn in, less grip
Vehicle: Mazda

Some big diameter Yokohama tires are unbalanceable. My 3 times rebalanced Geolanders G-52 vibrate depending on road curvature, wind direction, ambient temperature etc. Simply crazy.

Pros: good wear, thread-looking-good
Cons: vibrate depending on conditions
