Tires Toyo or Nexen

I've been quite happy with my Nexens on my E39. They're quiet and smooth. Oh yeah, grip in the snow is quite good too.

I run Nexen N'Fera SU1 tires on my GTI in the summer: https://www.nexentireusa.com/tires/high-performance/n-fera-su1 Best budget tires I've ever tried. They are wearing nicely, grip in dry and wet is great. I was VERY surprised about the wet weather performance. I'd buy them again and again, no questions asked.

I've been happy with Toyo AT2s

They have crushed walnut shells embedded in the rubber compound for extra grip and I'm very pleased with them.

I ran Nexen N-Fera SU1 on my GTI this summer and they were great. Wet/Dry performance for the daily driver was great, noise wasn't an issue either. Seem to be wearing well.

BMW road force balanced them and they were perfect... my savings were about $750 after getting them to do the balancing.

I ran them on my 850 volvo for a while. Seemed to wear well and I had no issues.

I bought [Toyo Observe GSi5](http://www.toyotires.ca/tire/pattern/observe-gsi5) for my car, I've no problems with them after three winters, driven country roads without slippage either.

It's possible the tire company is doing a great job of balancing your tires, only to have the tires spin on the rims while you're driving. I had this problem on the 19\" Atheos with Toyo Proxes ST's mounted.

I had Nexen N3000's on the S2000 when I purchased it. While I know they aren't N5000's, they seemed to have an odd reputation on message boards. The 3000's were deemed fairly acceptable for the first half of their tread life, but then horrid at the second half. They went from having a bit of grip to driving on frozen hockey pucks. Mine were already fairly worn on the S2000, and they were SCARY. They were promptly replaced with appropriate rubber for the car.
