Westlake makes really cheap tires that are great for burners. They're really hard rubber too so they slip really easily. They're OK to daily but in the wet it's interesting.
I drive about 160 KM every week, I use Westlake and its been 2 years already, still got enough tread for another 6 months, approx
You want cheap tires. Go Westlakes. Great budget brand.
I've run a few sets and no complaints.
I'm very happy with my [Sumitomo HTR Z III](https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+Z+III), for an affordable high performance tire. It's not going to last 60k miles, but it was a lot of fun slaying the Tail of the Dragon.
I have been using the Sumitomo HTR A/S P02s for the last 80k (just go 3rd set on front) as a good compromise in price and quality.
Westlake SW608s. The best!
judging from the conversation here, I think I'll go for Westlake ????
I daily drive with the Sumitomos they are alright in the dry but I do find they aren't as good in the wet. They do feel pretty predictable when driving hard and the tire wear isn't too bad.
Westlake tires are becoming a "known" brand name. It still doesn't change the fact they are a low end Chinese tire. That said, they will wear out fast as with all other Chinese tires the tread compound is very soft (low treadware rating). They don't hug corners well, there not fantastic at shuttling water, they are horrible in adverse terrain/weather, & they can be difficult to balance.
Westlake RP18 - Delaminated the tire before I killed the tread, good life, crappy grip.
