Tires Pirelli or OEM Volkswagen

Pirelli Tires

Well i went from 18s to 17s last winter... Originally i bought a set of Pirelli Sottozero3 225/40/18 on 18x7.5 wheels (might have been x8 i cant remember). The traction in cold was unreal and amazing, the price was not.

Pros: traction in cold amazing
Cons: price was not

Not because of F1, but when I bought full winter rims/tires I had Scorpion Ice & Snow for my X5M. They worked very well actually, and with the combination of the vehicle and those tires I never had any issues in the snow

Pros: worked very well
Vehicle: BMW

Pirelli Tires

I have a set, they are pretty good. for a 320 TW tire, the grip is awesome, and should last a lot longer than the OEM Pirellis. These tires are much better at the track (turning) not so much at the quarter.

Pros: awesome grip, long lasting
Cons: not good at quarter

Today I was able to return the Bridgestone Alenzas and have a different shop set me up with Pirelli Scorpion Verde 235/55/R18 All Season Plus tires and..... AWESOME. These tires are big feeling and grippy, quiet at highway speeds, AND the car is so much more responsive. I can;t compare to tires that I have not tried on this car, but these are a major upgrade from the Continentals that came stock and a very awesome place to be.

Pros: big feeling, grippy, quiet

OEM Volkswagen Tires

Apart from the stock all-season tires being abysmally horrid in the winter (I have another set of wheels with summer-only tires for warm weather), I haven't had any issues with my car and using the go-pedal.

Pros: no issues using go-pedal
Cons: horrid in the winter
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I ran a set of pzero nero and they were ok too, but they lost grip very early in life and got noisy. They say MS rated but they could barely handle any slush at all without squirming.

Pros: were ok
Cons: lost grip, got noisy

The stock Pirelli Cinturato P7s were quite worn at 29K miles...the poorest wearing tire Ive ever experienced in nearly 4 million miles of driving. What I liked about the Pirellis: Very good steering feel Very good dry grip Quite comfortable What I did not like about the Pirellis: Very poor wet grip 29K miles is a bit dismal

Pros: very good steering feel
Cons: very poor wet grip
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 29000 km
