Tires Pirelli or GT Radial

GT Radial Tires

Very good. Been using the all terrain version ng Savero for farm use, rough road, for more than 3yrs ok pa naman. A lot cheaper, and less road noise pa compared sa Yokohama

Pros: less road noise, a lot cheaper

Right now I'm getting by this crazy amount of snow, ice, and low temperatures with the stock perelli p-zero all seasons. I thought they would be bad but they are some of the better all seasons I have had in the snow. Although I find them to be quite lackluster in the dry and wet, so it makes more sense.

Pros: better all seasons in snow
Cons: lackluster in dry, wet
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Since my budget is kinda tight now, I did some research here in the sub and ended up buying the HT variant of the GT Radial Savero SUV line. So far I’m loving it since the ride is quiet/comfy, braking is good, and the overall handling is smooth.

Pros: quiet/comfy ride, good braking

I’ve got Pirelli Sotto Zero snow tires. Rated comparably to Blizzaks. Do fantastic in snow; we had a foot in NE Ohio and I was silly enough to go out during it. Was fine.

Pros: fantastic in snow, rated comparably to Blizzaks

I run 225/40r18 Pirelli Sottozero 3. I hate the idea of trading dry and wet performance for better snow traction especially considering that I have proper UHP summer tires that need to be off the car when it’s already below freezing at night but during the day it warms up a lot. They’re not bad in the 2 recent snow storms that we’ve had, I only got stuck once but that’s because there’s was like 20+ cm in an unplowed parking lot.

Pros: not bad in snow storms
Cons: trading dry, wet performance

Stock mk8.5 with the stock p-zero all seasons, it's been icy, -10f to 15f, and a few inches of snow daily. Drove it through 8" of snow where my bumper was plowing snow. Pretty impressed. Most important thing is tires, I really wish I had snow tires. I have to drive slow and brake early especially with the ice. Luckily these tires seem to prioritize braking. If you don't turn or accelerate slowly they start to lose grip fast.

Pros: prioritize braking, pretty impressed
Cons: lose grip fast, wish for snow tires

I did the pirelli EV tires. So expensive, minimal gains over Michelin or others. Don't do it just don't do it. I'm not convinced EV tires aren't just another way to upcharge for tires.

Pros: null
Cons: expensive, minimal gains

The only sour note was that the factory Pirelli P6s were garbage, replaced three of them by 10k mi due to sidewall knots, broken belts, etc. Plus they were useless in the rain.

Cons: garbage, useless in rain
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 10000 km
