These were on my R32 (as shown) and only saw 5-6k on the roads, and were stored winters. That said, tires are more of a gimme than anything else. With the off camber/toe wear from a substantially lowered R you lose a lot of inner tread.
I've run Dunlop Wintersport 3D's for going on 4 years. They're great in snow aswell as just on cold pavement.
I've been running Dunlop Direzza Z-1 StarSpecs on the track and on the street with no issues, still on OEM 18" wheels. NYC potholes have not been kind to me either, but no bubbles.
pretty sure i had some Dunlops on my GTI a decade ago or more, and would buy them again, too.
Had a bunch o different Dunlops on three different cars and they're far better economy tires than the sumitomos or coopers I've used.
Star Specs - 90% of the Bridgestone at 80% of the price.
The Direzza's are pretty sticky and take a lot before they break traction. I'm very happy with them performance-wise.
Last year it was Dunlop Wintersport M3s, which were ok, but not as good as the Semperits
I had my Pirelli PZeroNero's for 20k miles. They got extremely noisy for one, and also the steering wheel started to shimmy on the highway over 65mph. I just had Mic Pilot Super Sports installed and the shimmy is still there.
I have the exact same problem with my tires. I also just got my 20,000 mile service done and they rotated the tires. I now have a lot of road noise from the front tires and even more vibration. At low speeds there's a loud hum and at 65 I still have steering wheel vibration. The vibration at 65 has been there since the day I bought it and as far as the noise the dealer told me I have to take it up with Pirelli. I hate these tires and would never recommend them to anyone.
