We wore out the OEMs at 40k and picked up a set of Sumitomo P03 tires. Extremely happy with them. They're not strictly EV tires so there's some efficiency loss (maybe 5-10%?) but the car is much grippier, especially in wet and slushy conditions. Also, it's just way more comfortable of a ride. Kind of doubt they'll last through the manufacturer warranty of 50k miles but also it was just under $100/tire installed at DiscountTire so I'm not terribly concerned

Pros: extremely happy, much grippier, comfortable ride
Cons: efficiency loss, doubtful longevity
Mileage: 40000 km

Falken also makes several tires in that size. Falken are made by Sumitomo and excellent. My Sumitomos last at least 60k and are about $95-120.

Pros: excellent, last at least 60k
Mileage: 60000 km

SUMITOMO Tires

I ran sumitomo htr z5 for a few years and liked them a lot (summer/perf). Currently on vredestein quattrac pro which is more of an all season sport touring, and meh, I like them and they're great at what they are but I miss having performance tires in the summer.

Pros: liked them a lot
Cons: miss performance tires
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Just got a set on my winter stock wheels about a week ago now. I love the look. I'm currently running Sumitomo Ice Edge tires in the size 245/25/18. I previously had a set of Blizzarks (245/40/18) and can't really feel any significant difference in performance with the taller sidewall.

Pros: love the look, similar performance
Cons: obvious difference summer setup

SUMITOMO Tires

I had sumitomo ASPO3 on my Honda Accord and they were honestly really good tires The asymmetrical tread pattern did very well in the wet and light to moderate snow, I would purchase them again.

Pros: good in wet, good in snow

I almost totalled my RX-8 when my HTRZIII's were not even that bad. Don't get me wrong, they're okay for the price (actually a great drifting tire), but I can't but help think you get what you pay for in terms of how quickly they wear, and especially how bad traction is when they get near the end.

Pros: okay for the price
Cons: wore quickly, bad traction

Im a tech who has installed these (customer requested) and had them on one of my cars a few years ago. The only good points about them were the tread wear and the affordable cost. They have a VERY hard compound which means they lose traction easy. I was told by a customer, as well as my experience, that they spun very easily on wet surfaces and were terrible in the snow. They were also noisy at highway speeds. I do NOT recommend them and dont sell them unless requested.

Pros: tread wear, affordable cost
Cons: lose traction easy
