Tires OEM BMW or OEM Chevrolet

OEM Chevrolet Tires

Drove a Chevy Cavalier my entire apprenticeship. Good on gas, easy to park, sure footed with Snow Tires.

Pros: good on gas, easy to park
Vehicle: Chevrolet Cavalier

Want a real out there suggestion. The 2017 Chevy Bolt EV. Kind of a rare car. But my dad had one and it was an absolute blast. 200 hp and 266 ft/lb torque that was *instantly* available made the car way faster than you would have ever guessed. Once you ditched the terrible economy tires on it, it handled incredibly well because all the weight was way down low. It was also really well balanced because, while front wheel drive, most of the weight was in the middle - so it didn't really act like a typical front wheel drive car.

Pros: handled incredibly well, well balanced
Cons: terrible economy tires

BMW, to achieve superior handling, uses an aggressive negative camber for the rear wheels. So the inner of the rear tires will wear out faster by design. It is not an alignment issue.

Pros: superior handling
Cons: tires wear out faster

And one tire due to a bulge. The tire was not cheap ($500) but I let the dealership deal with it rather than getting it done cheaper elsewhere as I didn't want to drive on a massive bulge.

Pros: dealer dealt with it
Cons: tire was not cheap
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 48000 km

As others mentioned, run-flats are more suspectable to sidewall damage. They're also heavier and noisier. Also, you may have a wider selection of tires if you go with non-runflat.

Pros: wider tire selection
Cons: sidewall damage, heavier
Vehicle: BMW

I got the wheel and tire warranty when I bought my car. They’ve already replaced 4 run flats for free. I got 2 blowouts in the last 2 weeks hitting pretty average sized potholes that I’ve never had issues before with. Run flats suck.

Pros: warranty replaced run flats
Cons: blowouts, run flats suck
Vehicle: BMW
